Our new facility in Hearst allows us to work on medium sized trucks and specializes in up-fitting commercial vehicles to suite your company’s needs.  We are renown across Canada for our HiRail modifications to light and medium trucks.

Parts Counterperson

GENERAL SUMMARY
Assists internal and external customers with parts requests to ensure that the correct part is obtained the first time. This includes identifying correct parts and locating them in inventory or ordering the requested part. Assists in the operations of the Parts Departments by maintaining and tracking the parts inventory and accessories.
Reports To: Parts Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•Greets all customers promptly, provides timely professional services.
•Provides excellent customer service by listening to customer inquiries and requests, asking questions to ensure understanding of needs, and supplying parts in a timely manner.
•Recommends related parts that are needed.
•Ensures necessary parts are available.
•Costs parts on invoice or repair order.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
•Assists service technicians in determining parts requirements.
•Maintains positive working relationships with vendors.
•Informs customers when special order parts have arrived.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Provides technician with necessary parts wth minimal wait time ; uses parts pre-picking when applicable (e.g., when customer is coming in for recall part or scheduled service interval).
•Builds productive working relationships, consults with others as necessary.
•Has an approachable style; fosters open communication through active listening.
•Takes initiative to help others as needed.

•Follows up with customer to ensure that their needs have been met.
•Promotes cooperation and teamwork through actions.

•Effectively handles changes in the Parts Department.

•Maintains composure in dealing with customers.

Managing Complexity
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Coordinates with Service Department, Sales Department, Body Shop, and others to ensure that parts requests are met.
•Identifies and supports opportunities for methods/process improvement in the Parts Department.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
•Recommends improvements for the Parts Department.
Understanding and Using Business Knowledge
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Applies retailing techniques to sell and display parts and accessories.
•Assists in receiving and stocking parts orders.
•Assists Parts Manager in placing parts orders for dealership.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
•Obtains Ford Parts Counterperson Certification.
•Participates in departmental and dealership wide meetings.
Applying the Basics
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Records and monitor back orders.
•Uses computer to look up and monitor parts requests as well as recording parts disbursed per repair order.
•Assists in updating parts catalogs.
•Uses parts catalogs/MicroCat to acquire information on parts and accessories inventory.
•Maintains tight control over parts inventory to increase efficiency and eliminate customer delays.
•Makes full use of PIPP allowances to keep idle and obsolete inventory to a minimum.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
•Performs cashier responsibilities when necessary.
•Maintains a proper filing system for all paperwork corresponding to repair orders, special orders, and back orders, etc.
•Unpacks shipment and maintains displays.

This includes processing information from tables, written text, and charts; executing practical math problems; using systems to input or access information; and completing paperwork so that all information is correctly recorded.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education, training and/or state/national certifications should clearly demonstrate the possession of the knowledge and skills stated above.
•High School degree or equivalent preference

EXPERIENCE
•1 year in an automotive parts environment preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: WORKING CONDITIONS:
•Moving throughout the Parts Department
•Using computer to look up information and write up orders
•Using equipment consistent with industry standards

USUAL HOURS OF WORK
Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
